C
onstruction will start soon on this 60-foot ALUMINUM workboat. For a South Island (New Zealand) owner, it will be u
for general purpose work boat duties such as dropping mooring blocks, lifting mooring blocks from the sea floor for
inspection. It will be also used for
fishing charters. The hull has a cen-
tre keel that runs into the sole piece
under the rudder. This is an impor-
tant part of the design as it will re-
duce his chances of getting the
mooring lines caught around his pro-
peller.
The construction will be from a de-
tail CNC cut file. Powered by a single
911hp Yanmar.
The lower cabin has 8 berths. The
wheel house has a generous helm
station, L shaped settee with a table
that lowers to form a berth, galley
and computer work station. There is
a large head that is accessed from
the main aft deck that is also used
for the divers to put on their wet-
suits.
